Treasurers report - 1474.94.
Lenny requested a copy of the bylaws to be posted on the web site in the members section, as he is researching something.
There is a need for us all to LINK to the TDJA site, and display the TDJA logo on the website.
We will publish a list and the status for the next meeting.
Our prospective member Paul Bailey of Island Time is recovering from knee replacement #2. He has booked a gig (A wedding
reception) for APril 8th, and I have volunteered to be his roadie and observe. I have asked for a volunteer to come and tape the show, for review
by the group. Failing that, Joe Bunn has a video camera I can use, and I will act as observer. Paul explains that he always wears a tux. This show
is taking pace at a private residence(something I did twice this past summer).
Once we have some video, we can post it somewhere and then this counts as the second time we've seen him, and we should be
able to vote shortly after that. I will explain to Paul that we have a preference for the principal owners to be present, but that associate members
of the same company can join up as well as prescribed by the by laws.
We will be allocating some funds to create the new TDJA signage and literature. Deadline is up and operational by the 23rd
of April. Joe Bunn , Ron Smith and Tracy Telenko are a subcommittee that will finalize both the signage AND the new look for the
web site, they have a april 1 deadline to present some quotes AND the new look, which will be reflected on the web site.
Talked about a open questions forum for brides, and discussed our actual focus as a group. DJ's, Mobile DJs or WEDDING Dj's.
Our mission statement also got some discussion, and we need to think about that as well for the web site.
I think we decided to create focus on MOBILE DJ's, but I could have gotten it wrong. The ideas flew fast and furious.
Ross Presented a very thought provoking and I think well received sales seminar that basically asks us to rethink how we present to clients, and how we create our own brand and listening more closely to the clients needs. The thrust of the seminar was to move us further away from commodity selling and more towards a service.
(President's Note: My favorite pet peeve is chair covers: For a 200 person reception, the Embassy suites charges 3.00 per
chair to cover. How do we compare in value to 600.00 worth of chair covers??)
Finally, we decided on May 10, 2006 Wednesday as our next meeting date.
